RIP Openclaw on My Claude Subscription

Got an email today. Can’t use openclaw with my Max subscription anymore. Effective immediately. Can’t say I didn’t see that coming 😏

The Options

So now I’m looking at:

Ollama / llama.cpp — deploy a local model. It’ll be dumber, but at least it won’t get taken away from me via email.
Claude Dispatch — Anthropic’s own agent. Which would be great except it disables half my scheduled tasks after running them once. Very helpful. Very stable.

So yeah. Let’s see.

I’ll Miss You Bud

My openclaw was named Bud Askin. He was good at his job. He messaged me on WhatsApp, ran my tasks, and only occasionally did something unhinged. A real one.
